Menorca Fiestas
Menorca’s fiesta season is a vibrant celebration that draws locals and visitors alike to experience the island’s rich cultural heritage. Taking place throughout summer, these festivities are marked by lively parades, traditional music, and colorful costumes, captivating everyone in attendance.
Each village on Menorca has its own unique traditions, with events often centering around patron saint celebrations. The streets come alive with the sounds of local bands, and participants engage in energetic dances that showcase the island's folklore. The famous "Diana" processions, held early in the morning, herald the start of the day's festivities and set a joyful tone for what lies ahead.
One of the most iconic aspects of Menorca’s fiestas is the presence of the stunning Menorcan horses. Majestic and well-trained, these horses are often featured in parades, showcasing a deep bond between the riders and their steeds. Locals take pride in their equestrian skills, and events such as horse races and competitions become highlights of the celebrations.
Nighttime brings a different energy, as the streets fill with lights, food stalls, and enthusiastic crowds. Traditional dishes, from savory pastries to sweet treats, are readily available, allowing guests to indulge in local flavors. Fireworks often cap the evenings, lighting up the night sky and bringing the festivities to a dazzling conclusion.
For those looking to capture the essence of Menorca during this lively season, the unique atmosphere and spirit of the people provide incredible opportunities for photography. The combination of vibrant colors, emotional moments, and cultural traditions creates a backdrop that tells the island's story. Whether it’s the joy of a crowded fiesta or the quiet moments in between, each image tells a tale of celebration and community that can be cherished for years to come.
The annual summer spectacle of the fiestas across the island of Menorca starts on 22 June and finishes in September.

Montenegro
Kotor, Montenegro, offers a stunning backdrop for any wedding, characterized by its dramatic mountains and picturesque bay. Upon arriving, the quaint streets lined with ancient architecture set the stage for a memorable celebration.
The couple's choice of venue was a charming historic church, nestled within the stone walls of the old town. As guests gathered, the atmosphere was filled with excitement and emotion, underscored by the serene beauty of the surroundings. Using natural light and the unique landscape, I captured candid moments, from intimate glances to heartfelt embraces, allowing the essence of their love to shine through each photograph.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed a scenic boat ride across the Bay of Kotor. This provided an opportunity for breathtaking images against the backdrop of the mountains, with reflections shimmering on the water. As the sun began to set, the golden hour light offered a magical glow, enhancing each moment of laughter and celebration.
The reception, held at a quaint seaside restaurant, was adorned with local flora and twinkling lights, creating a romantic ambiance. I documented the joyful speeches, the couple's first dance, and the laughter shared among friends and family. Each photograph tells a part of their story, a unique perspective of their special day in this enchanting locale.
Kotor’s scenic beauty, combined with the couple's love, created a perfect canvas for storytelling through photography. These memories, captured in time, serve as a lasting reminder of their extraordinary celebration in Montenegro.

Photographing the new products from One17Design architects.
We've been with the team from The Dyehouse, a sister company to One17design, who design and manufacture some very impressive furniture. Initially the furniture was inspired by complimenting the builds they had completed and now they are rolling out the range to anyone wishing to buy. This will be done through their website and through printed advertising in the very best interiors magazines in the UK. We were commissioned to photograph the collection over four days in a mill which is being lovingly restored.

British manufacturing is on the up. I've been in West Yorkshire, very close to the Burberry factory at Lawrence & Foster, who produce traditional tweed hats for stores across the world. Most of the fabric is sourced from Scotland and then all the manufacturing is done at their Yorkshire base. I visited them yesterday to capture product photographs of each style of hat and to capture the production and factory, which will be used on their new website.

Portrait sittings for a talented group of architects
In our opinion, with the exception of music, architecture has the most profound effect on the human mind and is the most powerful art form out there. Within the industry, there are good and bad architects, and everything in-between. It was my pleasure therefore to photograph one of the talented architects that now heads a team of over twenty. Mark Lee has built his practice so they can now design not only the structure but also design and fit the interior, exterior and supply the furniture also. All part of the business he has created. For want of a better phrase...a one stop shop.
